ButtonShockwave Therapy
Shockwave Therapy is a safe, non-invasive treatment that uses acoustic (sound) waves to stimulate the body's natural healing process. It is commonly used to treat persistent tendon, muscle, and ligament pain, particularly when symptoms have not improved with rest, exercise, or other conservative treatments.
During treatment, targeted shockwaves are applied to the affected area using a handheld device. These waves help increase blood flow, encourage tissue repair, reduce pain, and improve mobility.
Most sessions take between 10 and 20 minutes, and many clients notice an improvement after just a few treatments, although the exact number of sessions varies depending on the condition being treated.
Shockwave Therapy is effective for a range of musculoskeletal conditions, including:
- Plantar fasciitis (heel pain)
- Achilles tendinopathy
- Tennis elbow and golfer's elbow
- Patellar tendinopathy (jumper's knee)
- Shoulder tendon pain and calcific tendinopathy
- Gluteal tendinopathy
- Hamstring tendinopathy
- Chronic muscle tightness and trigger points
While some mild discomfort may be experienced during the treatment, it is generally well tolerated and requires no downtime. You can usually return to your normal daily activities immediately after your appointment.
Shockwave Therapy works best as part of a comprehensive rehabilitation programme. Your clinician will assess your condition, determine whether you are a suitable candidate, and combine treatment with tailored exercises and advice to achieve the best possible outcomes.
If you have ongoing pain that's limiting your work, sport, or everyday activities, Shockwave Therapy may help you recover faster and get back to doing what you enjoy. Contact us to arrange an assessment and find out if this treatment is right for you.
